Group Presentation ?
This week we discussed a topic that I am very passionate about. Homeopathy is the therapeutic use of medications in a similar way to make a person feel better. Maricela presented the introduction and gave a brief description of the history and a few events. Homeopathy is Greek for ?homo,? meaning similar and ?pathy,? meaning diseases and suffering. Samuel Hahneman was the first to conduct Homeopathy studies back in the 1700?s. One of his cases used poison from a tree as a comparison to the symptoms that were found in malaria patients. I feel that since they found a way to compare symptoms they tried to use that towards the positive aspects. This is an example of Post Hoc Fallacy.
Homeopathy was introduced to America in 1824, and people did Homeopathy started to gain popularity in 1865-1895. By the year 1900 there were 22 colleges dedicated to homeopathy.
Jamie presented the con argument since there was no pro argument. He gave a good presentation and proved us information that may prove that homeopathy is all in the mind. He stated
